[ essay 1 ]

Advancements in technology have enabled us to live a better life in many ways, but Japan is still behind from other developed countries in terms of the environment where people with young people live.

First of all, we should aim to create a crime-free environment where parents let children play outside. Over the past few decades, the number of crimes, especially targeted at children, has been increasing. With this rising crime rate, many parents are reluctant to have their children play in public places like parks. In order to prevent crime, the government must beef up security by introducing more police officers patrolling around, so that children can play outside free of danger.

Second, many parents complain that education expenses are so high in Japan that they can't afford to raise children. Aside from regular school education, they feel pressure to send their children to cram school, which imposes a big burden on low-income families. This is one of the reasons for the declining birth rate Japan is facing today. The government should provide financial support to those households.

Furthermore, working conditions for women must be improved to encourage them to have children. Many working women are reluctant to give birth and raise children, because they are not allowed to have a long enough maternity leave. Also there are not enough child care facilities where they can leave their children while at work. As a result, many women are forced to give up having babies, which further contributes to the low birth rate.

In these ways, Japan should improve the environment for families. The government needs to take appropriate measures to make the country more comfortable and livable for families to live in.

[ essay 2 ]

As Japan has dramatically advanced in many ways since World War U, we now have the good economic stability, and appreciate all the creature comforts. However, there are still some ways to make our lives better. This essay will look at the ways to make Japan a better place for families.

First of all, we must tackle the environmental issues, such as pollution, global warming, and deforestation as soon as possible. Over the past few decades, Japan has greatly developed, thanks to the industrial advancement. On the other hand, such development has caused serious pollution which results in destructing the environment and damaging our health. Therefore, it is imperative that we should do more to deal with the problem in order to live in the better environment.

Secondly, working conditions, especially for women, should be changed for the better. Today, it is very hard for women, who are pregnant or have small children, to continue to work in Japan. Although some companies give them maternity leaves or other special treatment, it is not enough for them to continue their jobs. In many cases, they are forced to quit their jobs. Good child care service, however, can solve the problem. If they can leave their babies in a child care center while they are working, they don't have to quit their jobs to take care of their children.

Lastly, reducing the crime rate in Japan can allow us to live in a safer place. Today, the number of crimes, especially serious crimes has been increasing at a rapid rate. With this trend, parents cannot let their children outside alone, because they have to make sure their children are not attacked or kidnapped by strangers. In order to keep them safe, we need better security systems.

In conclusion, there are a number of ways to make Japan a better place for families. What is the most important to achieve it is that each of us thinks what we can do for this and try to practice it as much as possible.
