[ essay 1 ]

Thanks to many advances in medicine and technology, the world population has been growing so rapidly as ever before. At the same time, most of the developed countries are faced with aging society, which must be controlled immediately at all costs.

First, with aging populations, governments in the developed world will have difficulty securing enough tax revenues to support their economy. Naturally when an increasing number of people retire, there must be as many people joining the workforce to replace them. However, due to low birthrates, there aren't enough new workers coming into society to fill the void, which forces many companies to lose their productivity and causes the economy to shrink.

To make the matter worse, government expenses for social welfare increase as populations are aging. In today's aging society, more retired people start to rely on pension, and more elderly people need help of medication. In order to meet the increasing demand, the government has no choice but to raise taxes, which is a huge burden on low-income households.

In conclusion, there could be countless problems associated with aging populations. Unless appropriate measures are taken right now, aging societies will face a major crisis in the future.

[ essay 2 ]

With aging populations in most developed countries, it is assumed that an increasing number of retired and elderly people will impose a heavy burden on society as a whole. However, I argue that there are some solutions to aging populations, so that we can avoid a crisis in the future.

First, more immigrants should be allowed to enter the workforce to maintain economy. Due to safety issues or cultural differences, immigration is often frown upon in some countries, but immigrants are not only productive workers who support the economy, but they also contribute largely to taxes revenues, which can help an increasing number of elderly people. They could also be a boon to countries with low birthrates.

Second, most people remain highly productive well after the retirement age of 60 or 65, and raising the retirement age could be one of the possible solutions to aging society. In today's business world, there are more jobs available that require expertise, rather other physical labor, so older people with long experience and special skills are still needed, and contribute long to society even after legal retirement age.

In conclusion, it may be true that societies with aging populations will have several problems, but when appropriate measures are taken now, it is possible that senior citizens are a boon, not a burden, to society in the future.

[ essay 3 ]

As a standard of the living is dramatically improving, people can live longer than ever before. At the same time, societies with aging populations will be facing a crisis in the foreseeable future.

First, declining birth rates negatively affect societies with aging populations. As the number of young workers is decreasing, the government is struggling to obtain enough tax revenues to maintain pension and health care system. In addition to the low birth rate, a growing number of elderly people will start to rely on the current welfare system, which will further exacerbate the situation and might lead to the bankruptcy of the whole system.

Second, aging society can be a both physical and financial burden on the family. Due to the sluggish economy, many people, both husbands and wives, go out to work. When they have to care for their old parents, for example, either of them might have to quit their job, or they might need to have extra workload with taking care of their aged parents along with everyday chores and work.

For these reasons, societies with aging populations are going to have serious problems in the future. Needless to say, something must be done to avoid a crisis before it is too late.
