[95]   How can the problem of garbage disposal be solved?

The issue of garbage disposal is garnering a lot of attention today. We often dump a lot of garbage unnecessarily, and waste things which can be reused or recycled. However, with a little more effort, we can reduce the amount of garbage in many ways. Today, I'd like to talk about how we can deal with the problem of garbage disposal.

First of all, on an individual level, we, each of us, should try to make every effort to reduce the amount of garbage. For example, if you bring your own shopping bag when you go shopping, you can help reduce the consumption of plastic bags. Or if you take your own chopsticks to school or work, you don't have to use disposal ones, which means you can reduce garbage. These efforts seem to be too small to solve the problem dramatically, but when we, all of us, try to do the same thing, I'm sure it makes a big difference.

Second, on a larger scale, there are some other things that the government can do to deal with the problem. For example, they can launch campaigns or seminars about the garbage disposal issue to let people know how serious the problem is today, [ to raise an awareness of the problem ] and encourage them to make more efforts to reduce the amount of garbage. Also, if the government gives some incentives to people, like giving shopping vouchers when people recycle plastic container or reuse beer bottles, they are willing to contribute a lot to solve the problem. Or in order to discourage people from dumping garbage easily, the government can impose a fine on the people who throw away garbage illegally. In another way, convenience stores can charge extra money for plastic bags, disposal chopsticks, forks, and spoons.

In conclusion, we can solve the problem of garbage disposal in many ways. The efforts can be made from an individual level to governmental level. What is the most important is that we, all of us, should take the issue seriously, and try to do something we can do to tackle the problem. Thank you for your attention.
