[301]   Do large corporations have certain obligations to the local community?
I believe all corporations, whether large or small, have certain obligations to the local people and the areas they operate in. Let me explain why.

First, they have to keep good relations with local communities. They have to make the best effort to minimize the noise they make, or industrial waste must be handled properly. Dumping the waste into the river or releasing excessive amount of smoke to the air without proper treatment are out of the question. So corporation should avoid operations or practices that harm the local environment.

Second, corporation have obligations to give back to the community they operate in. They can make charitable donations to local schools, organizations, or annual events held there. Also they can provide funds to public facilities like laboratories or nursing homes. Moreover, they are obliged to boost the local economy by giving more employment opportunities to local people.
In conclusion, it is often said, and often criticized that corporations are always seeking profits and negligent of the local community. But they must be aware that harmony with the local community is of the utmost importance, and it actually brings up more profits and benefits for both of them in the long run.
