One day, a young woman was at home in the countryside. She went outside to check the mail, and she found a letter for her. It said that she had been offered a job in the city. She was very excited and thought about what it would be like to live in the city. She imagined herself walking along the skyscrapers wearing a business suit.

 

That afternoon, the woman and her mother were talking about the job offer. Her mother looked concerned, and told her that life in the city would be hard, but the woman said that she should be fine there.

 

One month later, the woman was working at the new office in the city. It was late in the evening, but she was still in the office. She felt blue when she thought of going back home on a crowded train

 

Six months later, the woman was in her apartment talking to her mother on the phone. She said that she was thinking of quitting the job. Her mother seems worried when she heard this.
